Dearmyer Stirs up Cheektowaga Politics:  In terms of running for public office, Lynn Dearmyer is new to the trade – but she’s well aware of using old-fashioned politics to achieve her goal.

Whether it’s walking door-to-door to canvass, appearing at every conceivable public event, or doing the necessary fund-raising to make such an enterprise possible, Dearmyer gladly goes through the routines that can make lesser candidates squirm or blush. “As I am walking through the 8th district daily I hear the same message from just about every door I knock on – ‘I cannot remember the last time the actual candidate has knocked on my door. Lynn Dearmyer announces candidacy for Erie County Legislature in 8th District

Depew, NY – Lynn Dearmyer (D, Cheektowaga) will announce tonight that she has the required amount of signatures needed to secure her a spot as a write-in on the Democratic Party primary ballot for the 8th District of the Erie County Legislature.

Ms. Dearmyer is announcing her intent to run at a fundraiser for her campaign at The Hidden Shamrock on Transit Road in Depew on Thursday, July 16th from 6-8pm.

Ms. Dearmyer has collected over 1,000 signatures, doubling the number required to secure a place on the ballot. The 8th district includes central Cheektowaga, the village of Depew, and a portion of Lancaster.  She has been personally reaching out to voters while getting signatures and is spearheading a grassroots campaign to gain support from the community.

“Voters are interested in this upcoming election”, Ms. Dearmyer says.  “I’ve been speaking with many people in the district and listening to what they are looking for in a Legislator.  I am encouraged by the response I have been hearing and will continue to reach as many people as possible before Primary Day on September 15th.”

She continues, “My campaign message is simple.  I’m eager to listen and ready to work hard for the 8th district.  Fresh ideas and perspective can make good things happen.”
