The time for change in the Erie County Legislature has arrived, and
Lynn Dearmyer is ready to lead that change, beginning on September 15
in the Democratic Primary.
“I am running for Erie County Legislator because I believe that YOU,
the citizens of the 8th district, deserve a fresh, energetic and new
perspective to County government. I am clearly not a career
politician, but one of you, a citizen who believes that I can bring
back YOUR voices and concerns to Erie County.”
Chances are, if you live in the 8th Legislative District, you’ve
already seen or spoken with Lynn. Unlike so many people that run for
office, she actually belives in grassroots politics – going door to
door, talking honestly about the issues that face our neighborhoods -
and the people that live in them.
“A politician needs to be held accountable by the people who voted for
them. I vow without hesitation to be open, transparent and publicly
post my calendar so you, my boss, can see exactly what I am doing for
you. I also would be in favor of sending out a “Report Card” so voters
can let me know how I’m serving them.”
Part of the reason Lynn is running is the faith you have already put
in her, through more than 1,000 signatures that helped her get on the
primary ballot. Lynn was out rain or shine, daily and collected more
than 700 of those signatures on her own.
These tough times do not require the same old politicians with the
same old political approaches, doing what is convenient for them, not
what is good for the people.
“Whatever your issue or your concern is, it will be mine as well. As
your Erie County Legislator I will listen, work diligently and
energetically to help every one of you in the 8th district. I plan on
having my office centrally located in the district so it’s easily
accessible to my constituents, not close by my house as a convenience
for me.”
Lynn Dearmyer is not afraid to address the issues head-on, whether
it’s the scourge of vacant properties, the conditions of our roads, or
the plight of pest control in our residences.
Just as important to Lynn Dearmyer is having a leaner, more efficient
county government. Everywhere you look, people are taking pay cuts to
keep their jobs. Lawmakers should keep that in mind as they make the
decisions that affect the everyday lives of their constituents. To
her, keeping jobs here is just as important as making sure every
nickel and time of tax revenue is collected.
And Lynn Dearmyer, as a lifelong resident of Cheektowaga, is right in
touch with our concerns, especially those of our senior citizens.
“I will work hard for our seniors so they may continue to receive the
services that we already have in place as well as look for ways to
expand these without it costing more money from our wallets. My parents
are senior citizens who have lived in this district almost 30 years
and I know how difficult it can be to get transportation to doctor
appointments. I will do all I possibly can to help ease some of your
burdens.”
She believes that elected officials should provide honest answers to
the people they serve – a novel concept indeed.
County government is fundamentally broken. New faces, with new ideas,
are needed more than ever, and Lynn Dearmyer represents that necessary
change. As your legislator, she will be completely committed to
reforming the county’s old, flawed ways of doing business, and being
accountable only to you, the citizen.
As you navigate around this web site and find out about Lynn’s
campaign, her platform and her ideas, you will quickly discover why we
need her to lead the Erie County Legislature in a new and positive
direction.
“If you would like to see someone with as much love and compassion for
this district as you have, I ask for your vote on Primary Day,
September 15th. Vote for someone who will work hard just as you do
daily. Vote for someone who will actually listen AND CARE to each and
every one of you! Vote for a new face and a new perspective.
“Thank you all for your support!”
